This Service Pack has been replaced by a newer version that you can find in the download-center. Please contact the Vector support team if you need another SP version for your installation.

With Service Pack 3, the following changes become effective:

General:

  • Support for new PCI express hardware VN7570 with 8 channels for CAN, LIN und FlexRay
  • VT System: Support for VT modules with user-programmable FPGA
  • VT System: Documentation generation extended
  • CAPL: 64 bit signals can be read and written in message context
  • FDX: Frame and PDU contents can be sent and received
  • Support for VH1100 with VN8910a. Please contact the Vector Support for this purpose.

Diagnostics Feature Set:

  • K-Line: Trace enhancements (additional columns, event highlighting)
  • K-Line: Support for standalone mode of VN8900

Test Feature Set:

  • General:
    • The test execution window takes now also part of window synchronisation.
    • Demo for LabVIEW integration: There are several new data types that can be used with automatic integration: boolean, string, multiple array types.
  • Test functions:
    • Hew test function to scan and report the diagnostic system configuration.
    • Fault-Memory tests: In the test function faultmem_dtcs a non-standard status byte can be parameterized.
    • Value tables that are defined in the basic diagnostic feature can be used now also within xml test modules.
    • The check "Signal Cycle Time" can now be used in XML test modules as well.

AUTOSAR:

  • ASR NM Observer (first version)
  • ASR Explorer
    • View and Edit of Autosar System Descriptions 4.0.3
    • View and Edit of Autosar System Descriptions 3.2.2
    • Display of NM and TP data in the corresponding views
    • Configuration of additional PDU Ttypes: NM-PDU, N-PDU, DCM-I-PDU
    • Display of PDUs without a transmitter
    • Display of total number of frames, PDUs and signals in the header of the views

CAN:

  • Basis support (max. 8 data bytes) for CAN FD with VN1630/40*
  • Support for CAN channels of VN5610 (IP hardware)

Option .LIN:

  • COM support for LIN conformance Test Module

Option .FlexRay:

  • FlexRay Filter Block: The node filter ignores frames without a schedule in the database

Option .XCP/.AMD:

  • Automation via COM Interface: The XCP configuration can now be controlled via the COM Interface.
  • Delayed responses during connection establishment of XCP on TCP are now considered.
  • Improved handling of ULONG parameters.
  • Tolerant handling of contradicting alignment settings in the A2L file and odd addresses.
  • The MODIFY_BITS command now supports 32bit masks.

Option .SCOPE:

  • Basis support (max. 8 data bytes) for CAN FD with VN1630/40
  • First support of PicoScope hardware 6404B
  • New manual with connection instructions for the usage of multiple PicoScope hardware.

Option .Car2x:

  • Map window:
    • Object display according to simTD Common Network Header supported

    • Display of ASN.1 UTF-8 strings supported
    • Detail view: expansion state of subtitles is kept when another packet is selected

Option .IP:

  • New Vector Ethernet interface VN5610 supported

  • Warnings are reported in the Write window in case a corrupt FIBEX database is assigned.
  • Global options dialog: For application protocols port ranges can be defined (TCP and UDP ports).
  • IP Filter:
    • Stacked VLANs supported (IEEE 802.1ad and IEEE 802.1QinQ)
    • PTP message types corrected
  • Trace window:
    • Display of SOME/IP UTF-8 and UTF-16 strings supported
    • Stacked VLAN tags are counted from inner tag to outer tag starting with 0.
    • S-VLAN (Ethertype 0x88A8) has DEI flag (Drop Eligible Indicator) instead of CFI flag (Canonical Format Indicator).
    • PTP message types corrected
    • Detail view: Expansion state of subtitles is kept when another packet is selected.
  • Ethernet Packet Builder: Protocols AVTP (IEEE 1722) and PTP (IEEE 802.1AS) supported
  • Ethernet Interaction Layer - Packet API
    • Protocols AVTP (IEEE 1722) and PTP (IEEE 802.1AS) supported
    • Stacked VLANs supported (IEEE 802.1ad and IEEE 802.1QinQ)
    • Exception handling for socket connections initiated by .NET improved

Option .J1939:

  • Diagnostic Feature Set:
    • UDS functional addressing is supported for J1939 networks
    • UDS messages are sent 250 ms after successful address claim.
  • Trace window
    • DTCs with CM bit set to 1 are indicated as protocol violations, as this might lead to misinterpretations of the given SPN. No violation is indicated in case a certain SPN conversion method is configured in the database for the corresponding node.
    • With the CM bit set to 1 the SPN is interpreted like in the J1939 Diagnostics Monitor according to the SPN conversion method configured for this node in the database.
    • Correct event counter value in case of wrong source or destination address
  • J1939 Diagnostics Memory Access: Display and usability improved
  • Issue fixed with offline analysis, replay and import of ASC logging files containing very long signal names.
  • Demo database J1939.dbc: Updates (PGNs and SPNs)

Option .ISO11783:

  • Trace window: Column ISO11783 Interpretation supports display of extended structure label (hexadecimal) in parameter group PD (PGN 51968).
  • Virtual Terminal: Message sequence during auxiliary (re-)assignments corrected
  • Interactive Task Controller
    • Version 3 support extended
    • It is possible now to configure if and when the task data is loaded from disk or stored to disk.
    • Improved reporting of device description inconsistencies in the information section
    • It is possible now to add process variables from different device descriptions to the same task.
    • On insertion into Simulation Setup an Interactive Task Controller is initialized with Version 2 (IL4).
  • ISO11783 Interaction Layer
    • Improved reporting of device description inconsistencies in the Write window
    • The callback function Iso11783IL_OnTxPrepare() is called for parameter groups to be sent to the Virtual Terminal or the Interactive Task Controller now as well.
    • Absolute file paths are accepted in node attributes ISO11783IOPFilename and ISO11783PDDFilename.
    • On start-up a simulated node identifies other nodes if necessary by means of a request for address claim. This ensures that auxiliary assignments are handled correctly.
    • Issue with oversized attributes in the device description is fixed.
    • The Working Set Task message is sent cyclically independent of a device description transfer.
  • ISO11783 Node Layer
    • Simulated nodes of version 3 transmit the device description with correct structure label (length of up to 39 byte).
    • Improved reporting of device description inconsistencies in the Write window
    • On start-up a simulated node identifies other nodes if necessary by means of a request for address claim. This ensures that auxiliary assignments are handled correctly.
    • Issue with oversized attributes in the device description is fixed.
    • The Working Set Task message is sent cyclically independent of a device description transfer.

Option .J1587:

  • Trace window: Column Receive node for symbolic interpretation of destination device in case of PIDs 197 (Connection Management - CMP), 198 (Connection Mode Data Transfer - CDP) and 254 (Data Link Escape)
  • CAPL: Callback function on J1587param is executed in case of MID>191 as well now
  • Bus Statistics window: Last second of measurement is considered now
  • Demo database J1587.dbc: Network nodes revised
