Vector Automotive Ethernet Symposium 2014

Vector Automotive Ethernet Symposium 2014

The event took place on May 27, 2014 in Stuttgart (Germany). Over 150 international participants learned more about the fundamentals and developments of this very promising bus technology.

The presentations by the two automotive manufacturers BMW and Daimler indicated the direction in which OEMs want to go in introducing SOME/IP and BroadR-Reach. The presentations by suppliers and Vector illustrated which problems still need to be solved (e.g. time synchronization and AUTOSAR architecture). The conclusion was very clear: IP-based vehicle networking is the future!

During the breaks, guests had the opportunity to learn more about the Vector Automotive Ethernet Solution, based on exhibits and with practical examples, and to converse with their industry colleagues. We were able to get Dr. Thomas Scharnhorst as moderator for the event; he directed the symposium, which as always was well prepared.
