Predictions are often difficult to make, but clairvoyant powers are not really needed to identify some of the more obvious overriding goals of the product development and E/E component development process in the next 10 years:
- More effective and more efficient test methods
- Use/reuse of standardized and tested software components
- Tool support throughout the development process will be provided by engineering backbones
